One-stage, variported vacuum pumps are efficient across the whole range of the pumping spectrum, and hence are an ideal choice for chamber evacuation. This type of vacuum pump is highly universal. These vacuum pumps have a pumping speed of between 50 m³/h and 1700 m³/h and achieve a maximum vacuum of 33 mbar_(abs). The vacuum pump is connected to the motor by a coupling. The vacuum pump and motor have a shared foundation, or alternatively the connection is via a flange for flange connected electromotors. The material used is either cast iron, stainless, or duplex. ATEX possible.

These vacuum pumps are cooled by running water. For applications with strongly contaminated or aggressive media, a flow-through system is used where water flows through the vacuum pump. For other applications, water either fully or partially recirculates. Systems for full recirculation eliminate the need to continuously refill the liquid.
