Piston vacuum pumps are robust, resistant to impurities, and ideal for demanding and dirty applications. Vacuum pumps are cooled by water with the possibility of using a second exchanger. Piston vacuum pumps maintain a high pumping speed even in the case of deep vacuum. Certain piston vacuum pumps have already been in operation for over 70 years. Their primary applications lie in heavy and chemical industries.
To achieve deeper vacuum or increase the pumping speed, front-end auxiliary Roots vacuum pumps are used.
Operating principle of piston vacuum pumps
All types of Kinney piston vacuum pumps use three, parallel connected pistons which are dynamically balanced. These vacuum pumps are reliable and can also be used in contaminated environments. The space between the piston and cylinder is sealed by oil, and the output has an oil mist separator. Vacuum pumps run at low revolutions and so their bearings have a very long service life. The shaft is sealed with a mechanical seal.

KT vacuum pumps
KT vacuum pumps are rotary vane oil vacuum pumps with a pumping speed of between 255 and 1322 m3/h that can achieve a vacuum of up to 0.013 mbar. These vacuum pumps have a vertical construction.

KT-LP vacuum pumps
KT-LP vacuum pumps are similar to KT vacuum pumps, however, they have an integrated oil mist separator. These vacuum pumps have a horizontal construction.

KTC vacuum pumps
KTC vacuum pumps are two-stage rotary vane oil piston vacuum pumps. They are best used in applications where pumping speed is required in a fine vacuum. These vacuum pumps achieve a pressure of up to 0.00026 mbar.

KD vacuum pumps
KD and KDH vacuum pumps are single-stage rotary vane oil piston vacuum pumps. These are smaller than the KT vacuum pumps. Pumping speed: from 56 m3/h up to 280 m3/h. The vacuum pump has a duplex piston. KD vacuum pumps achieve a vacuum of up to 0.013 mbar.
