Compressors with carbon vane vanes are oil-free compressors intended for applications requiring low overpressure but high flow. These are air-cooled and suitable for both permanent and non-continuous operation.
Operating principle of carbon vane (rotating) compressors
The suctioned air first passes through an integrated air filter. The eccentrically placed rotor rotates in the cylinder. Carbon vane vanes move in the grooves in the rotor, inertial forces pushing the vanes towards the rotor. Lubrication reduces friction on the vanes and ensures that the compressor is sealed. The vanes close the sickle-shaped space between the rotor and stator. The volume of this area changes, leading to suction, compression, and exhaust.
Parameters of carbon vane compressors:
- pumping speed: from 3 m3/h up to 140 m3/h
- motor power: from 0.18 kW to 3,8 kW
- max. overpressure: +1.5 bar
